Her parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a profession or a pastime, but to grow. As a result, she started writing the music she composed herself. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform the songs she wrote publicly after her mother suggested that they might help others not to gain fame with her work but to make those around them see their importance and the ways they impact the world. As a young girl She began playing the piano and at nine began writing her own songs. Her family didn't hear about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora has never imagined being famous. Her sole passion is to compose music. To her, music is the best means of communicating anything.
