Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree of English literature. Mitchell started working as a TV and radio reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. Mitchell was a reporter at the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) located which was based in Washington DC. In Washington she was made general correspondent for NBC News two year later. She began covering the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office in 1988. Mitchell became the the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell is a former panelist and presenter of the TV show Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist during the presidential debates in 1988 in the debate between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell got married to Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her work in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering the White House for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, during both the terms of President Ronald Reagan. Mitchell covered a number of noteworthy reports over the years, including budget reform, tax reform as well as the Iran Contra saga. She traveled frequently together with Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
