Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. She is most famous because of her part as the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC series NYPD Blue. For this she won the Emmy Award. Also, she has appeared in dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was born the only child of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with her four brothers. She envisioned being a reporter for the court in childhood but started modelling while at high school, eventually earning commercials after moving into New York. Her first role acting was when she was a young, innocent girl in the soap opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has been featured in many TV dramas and films. Like her career but her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. The accomplished actor has had to battle alcoholism, and has had two failed marriages. The year 2005 was the time she was denied custody of the only child that she had.
